5. Mark Sanchez

The now-expendable in Houston Brian Hoyer is an easy option here, but I'm going with Sanchez. There were already some indications the Philadelphia Eagles were going to cut him, but Wednesday's signing of Chase Daniel seals it. The Broncos probably would not sign Sanchez and hand him the starting job, but he could easily be brought in to compete and add depth.

Trade rumors surrounding Glennon date back a year, but Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht has recently been steadfast in a desire not to move the team's backup quarterback. Dueling insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport have mentioned Glennon as a trade target for the Broncos, and if they are willing to part with a good draft pick Licht could change his tune quickly.

Griffin has of course been released by the Washington Redskins, and multiple reports have said he is on Denver's radar. The skillset he showed as a rookie, pre-knee injury and before the constant drama in Washington, would be a good fit for Gary Kubiak's offense.

2. Ryan Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick has yet to re-sign with the New York Jets, and at least one other team (Houston) that could have had interest in him is no longer in the market for a quarterback. The Broncos apparently weren't willing to get into a bidding war for Osweiler, but they could see Fitzpatrick's longer track record as a better investment.

On Wednesday morning, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Kaepernick would be the Broncos' backup plan if they could not re-sign Osweiler. The San Francisco 49ers remain committed (at least publicly) to keeping Kaepernick, but Denver may make a trade offer that can't be turned away.
